I said back in July that it’s going to take a commitment on the part of the Tea Party (and other such change-minded folks) to make a serious go of what has now happened two days ago.
(Current) Minority Leader Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) formally launched his bid for the speakership in the 112th Congress today after he, Mississippi GOP Governor Haley Barbour and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) spun their view of Tuesday’s historic election.
The 112th Congress — the last Congress to be elected using congressional districts apportioned based on the 2000 census — doesn’t begin until January 3, 2011.
Until then, we wait. Then we see if the follow-through happens.
