Obama: The No-Bow Bow, Childhood Apartment Memorialized, Turkey Goes Blackface, Citizen Jury Update

While the debate rages on over whether or not the President has actually admitted to being a Muslim (apparently important to those who sympathize with the Administration), an even bigger debate is being sparked over the President’s “no-bow” bow.

In fact, this story — which has apparently been making the rounds for the past 3 or 4 days — has prompted a response from the White House.

More specifically, “One picture is worth a thousand words:”

Thanks to AtlasShrugs, did you notice the following?

There was no two-handed handshake going on here…

Blogger FoundingBloggers makes things even more picturesque:

As blogger StartThinkingRight takes note

And here’s the link to the video, so you can watch the whole thing over and over while screaming, “THIS IS YOUR IDEA OF RESTORING AMERICAN PRESTIGE?”

It didn’t take long before the official denial: “Barack Obama did not show subservient fealty to that king, Mr. Abdullah…”

Barack Obama’s handler’s may be right.  At least technically.

From Webster’s Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language:

Curtsy: a bow by women in recognition or respect, consisting of bending the knees and lowering the body.”

Let’s see: bent knees -- check.  Lowered body -- check.  Woman?  Well, that’s really pretty darned subjective, given Obama being our first true metrosexual president, and all.

Obama didn’t bow down before Saudi King Abdullah, contrary to the accusations by “the vast, right-wing conspiracy.”  He curtsied, which is the new metrosexual version of “a bow by any other name would smell as submissive.”

Many are saying Obama bowing down before the Saudi king shows weakness.  Like everyone didn’t already know Barack Obama was weak…

Pamela Gellar provides an excellent inverse analogy:

Imagine if we woke up tomorrow with a president named Solomon Goldstein. A President, who for sure lived in and maybe was even born in Israel. A President, who as a boy went to a very conservative Jewish religious school in Israel. A President who as soon as he was elected calls the Israeli PM and promises that a peace the Jews can live with will soon be implemented. Then in his first interview as President he sits down with the Jewish Television Network and apologizes for Americans’ past arrogant behavior. Among other things our new President does first is lecture us that Zionism is a noble thing and has given the World many wonderful things and that we all MUST respect Zionism, even if we don’t agree with it. Then when our new President takes his first foreign trip, it is to Israel to address the Jewish nation. When first meeting the Israeli PM he bows to him. Then later in a press conference with the Israeli PM our new President proclaims that America is not a Christian nation and then while in Israel he spends time in several Synagogues and smiles when a Rabbi points out that his name is the same as one of Israel’s former kings. When our new President starts pushing for Israel to become a member of the UN Security Council will anyone complain?

Replace Islam and Muslim with the above and Barack Hussein Obama has done all of the above.

Jeff Shreiber’s AmericasRight blog comes to a slightly different conclusion.

In better news for the President, WorldNetDaily is reporting that Hawaii is moving to make his childhood apartment memorialized via the National Register of Historic Places:

Hawaii lawmakers have voted to advance a resolution to make the apartment building where Barack Obama grew up a national landmark, yet there is still no move to recognize any island hospital as his birthplace.

The move this week is the first step in designating the 1960s-era, 12-story Punahou apartment building on the National Register of Historical Places.

“It’s very unique that the president of the United States grew up in a modest high-rise apartment building in Honolulu,” Renton Nip, chairman of the board of the Emma Kwock Chun Corp., which owns the Punahou Circle apartments, told the Associated Press. “With his modest upbringing, he has achieved so much. It’s terrific.”

Obama claims to have been born in Honolulu and lived in the two-bedroom 10th-floor apartment from 1971 to 1979, when he graduated from nearby Punahou School. His grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, rented a unit in the building for 41 years until she died just before Obama was elected president last year.

“By placing this on the register, we get to talk about how Hawaii and its places shaped the character and the philosophy of this unique resident,” said Kiersten Faulkner, executive director of the Historic Hawai’i Foundation.

Placing a site on the National Register of Historic Places is mostly a recognition of its significance without many obligations. The listing comes with investment tax credits and does not limit property rights.

Tourists are not allowed inside to see the apartment itself. They will have to look at the building from tour buses roaming Honolulu’s streets.

“With all due respect, there’s a level of pride we can have in having a native son being the president, but I think even the president would say there are more pressing things we have to focus on,” said Adam DeGuire, executive director of the Hawaii Republican Party.

Properties applying for listing in the National Register are considered by a professional review board and judged based on their age and significance. The program is administered by the National Park Service.

The next most obvious question is, which Hawaiian hospital is going to memorialize — perhaps with a plaque — itself as being the President’s place of birth?

With that in mind, the same article broaches the eligibility issue with respect to Hawaiian Department of Health officials:

The one subject that has been avoided to date has been whether or not the president is, in fact, eligible.

So far, there have been two definitive statements on the issue that have been made public, including one from an Obama campaign spokeswoman talking about the challenges who told WND, “All I can tell you is that it is just pure garbage.”

The other is from Chiyome Fukino, the director of the Hawaiian Department of Health, who issued a statement, “I as Director of Health for the State of Hawaii, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures.”

As with the court opinions, what is not said is significant. While the certificate on file is “in accordance with state policies and procedures,” there’s no affirmation that the document reflects a Hawaiian birth.

Nor is there any explanation for the image of the Hawaii state “certification of live birth” that has been posted by Obama on the Internet, purporting to document his Hawaiian birth, even though Hawaiian procedures at the time allowed that document to be issued to parents of children not born in the state.

For example, why would an individual with a verified birth certificate also have a “certification of live birth?”

So, could it get worse for the President, at least internationally? How about going blackface??

As EvilConservativeOnline opines:

This comes pretty close to maxing out the weird scale… a Turkish broadcaster in blackface reporting on Obama’s butt-kissing speech today in Turkey. Obama’s speech was long on praise for Islam and apologies for America. I wonder what the response would be if Rush Limbaugh did a show in blackface?

ScoopThis.org provides a rough translation of the original jibberish: “Welcome, Mr. Obama. You took our hearts with your hospitality. We appreciate your kindness. We will do whatever America asks of us, as friends. Now, we ask the same of you.”

On the common law/citizen grand jury front:

A current listing of eligibility lawsuits can be found here.

American, I agree with what you are saying. I cannot believe that the things going on are being tolerated like they are. The man BOWED to King Abdullah. It was just a chilling, sickening thing to see. I could be wrong, but my general sense tells me there was a certain familiarity or admiration in his demeaner towards King Abdullah. Also it seemed like an obescience due to his being a fellow Muslim is another feeling I get. Just a sickening thing to see, the man elected as President of the United States, bowing to King Abdullah. It definitely strikes some fear in me when I see that. Something’s not quite right about that, on multiple levels in multiple facets. I myself think it’s a form of treason.

The planes flying in the Manhattan area with the panic that ensued in those living and working in the area, that is an outrage as well. All we get out of the President is an arrogant and blase sounding “It was a mistake” as he moves effortlessly onto another subject, when asked about this travesty. No sincere apologies, no outrage. The whole thing looked like a sick joke. I mean, who in their right mind, after 9-11, would send an airliner with a fighter plane trailing close behind flying low over Manhattan for almost half an hour with no prior warning to the public? People were running down stairwells, panicking, trying to get out of buildings, 9-11 style.

I literally am having nightmares about this man being in office and the threat to our country.

According to Kenya and the discussion in their Parliament on January 20, no passport will be needed to visit Kenya as they’ve laid “sovereign claim” to their “son of the soil” Mr. Obama Jr. along with the entire United States of America.

Congratulations. We’ve been Kenyans since January.

Where’s the memorial of Barry’s birthplace in Hawaii? I lived in Denison Tx, birthplace of President Eisenhower. It is a popular tourist stop, and the city promotes the site through the Chamber of Commerce. If Barry was born in Hawaii, where was the place of birth? The lack of a place of birth, in Hawaii, is most telling, and suggests that the real place of birth is Kenya, and wouldn’t you know it, Kenya has placed a memorial at the site, where they say Obama was born.

Again, your self-importance seems to know no bounds. “Illegitimizer” or other folks who don’t believe it’s right to question this President account for maybe a 16th of the hits I receive on this site (that stat shouldn’t be taken literally; rather, it demonstrates that while I appreciate the patronage of the opposition, I get far more hits from newbies and friendlies than I do adversaries).

Good evening everybody and much thanks to all my friends out there in cyberworld. Thanks a bundle for tuning in and I’ve got one quick question for ya’ll. If that apartment building is where ‘bamy lived from 1971-1979, where did he live at the age of zero? Let me rephrase that for those who don’t understand the question, refuse to understand the question, or who are to flat out stupid to understand the question. Why isn’t his home at the time of his birth in 1961 being memorialized? Answer: Because it is in Kenya.

  • Phil says:

    Reality Check,

I think you need to decide what you want your blog to be.

I do believe that’s long since been decided.

When you let through comments like the one made by AA and then do not condemn them and instead tell him his heart is in the right place don’t get all huffy when I point out the prejudice in deleting harmless sarcasm but allowing conservatives to spew vile filth like that.

Based on the 4 paragraphs of vent just done by you, I’m beginning to wonder: who’s the one “get[ting] all huffy?”

Maybe you missed it in the previous comment, so I’ll say it again: This is my blog, I decide the final verdict on judgments of whether or not to allow through comments, and if you don’t like the way I moderate my site, you’re quite clearly more than free and able to peruse other sites.

If you want to ban me and the other Obama supporters you are free to do so.

The word “ban” was never used in my original comment to you; that’s your word, not mine. Instead, I used a nicer form of, “don’t let the door hit you on the way out” if this site’s not for you.

You blog will then become even more marginalized and a joke like The OC and some others I could name.

    Two things about this quote:

    1. I’m impressed that I could get more “marginalized” than I already am — I thought, for sure, that my site was already on the “fringe” and a part of the “radical right;”

    2. Did you notice what you said immediately after this quote?:

If I see a comment with misspellings, poor grammar, unsupported claims, and page long paragraphs then I know it is from an Obama hater without reading any further.

…and yet your sentence two sentences above this one began with, “You blog will then become…”

I guess it pays to not be too judgmental of people, now, doesn’t it? In other words, before castigating people for fat-fingering things (like you just did), perhaps you should make better use of the feature you originally requested — Preview!

If you think banning me and other “Obots” will stop us from calling out out the Birthers for misstatement of facts then you are mistaken.

Again, remember, “ban” is your word, not mine. Therefore, the rest of the paragraph from which this sentence originates is moot.

Reality Check, while I am in no way obligated to explain my actions to you nor anyone else, I think we both know that I’m more than fair with my commentary on this site. In fact, I know I am, because I’ve received complaints from “both sides” of eligibility and other issues that I should invoke more censorship on the other party; that means I’m doing a good job, regardless of whatever you may say.

    Phil

I think you need to decide what you want your blog to be. Just to set the record straight, I don’t believe any of my comments have been deleted for anything other than sarcasm. I do not generally use profanity in comments even though some comments certainly warranted the use. If you look at your regular posters around half of the comments are from “Obots” as we are affectionately called. When you let through comments like the one made by AA and then do not condemn them and instead tell him his heart is in the right place don’t get all huffy when I point out the prejudice in deleting harmless sarcasm but allowing conservatives to spew vile filth like that.

If you want to ban me and the other Obama supporters you are free to do so. You blog will then become even more marginalized and a joke like The OC and some others I could name. It is easy to ascertain that the more intelligent and factual comments here with just a few exceptions are from the “Obots”. If I see a comment with misspellings, poor grammar, unsupported claims, and page long paragraphs then I know it is from an Obama hater without reading any further.

If you think banning me and other “Obots” will stop us from calling out out the Birthers for misstatement of facts then you are mistaken. There are plenty of blogs that allow the free flow of expression without censorship and holding comments for hours until the admin thinks up a reply. You should try to express your views in that sort of open environment where you do not hold the delete button some time. Let’s see how you do there?

Your blog has been enrichened and improved by the openness of discussion between both sides to the extent that it has been allowed. Should you choose to make it a blog for you and the cheerleaders it will be your loss and not mine.

American is an unpatriotic, treasonous fool. You and he have drunk the same conservative Koolade, you just are more restrained in your hate and less emotional than AA.

It has become apparent to rational readers this week from your manipulation of the facts and false headlines that one of your goals is to stoke the emotions of unfortunate, misguided people like AA. It appears at least in his case you have succeeded. Congratulations, Phil. This appears to be about all the conservative media have left in their bag o’ tricks – hate, pure and simple, unadulterated hate.

A few things for you to consider before you are encouraged to type in another domain address in your browser’s address bar to move on:

I completely disagree with this President on a whole host of issues, and this President continues to absolutely piss me and my family off with how he handles any given situation. I also think (as has become obvious on my site) that many other folks hold the same views as well.

Having said that, people do a lot of venting on the blogosphere (I’m sure when President Bush was in office, the same leftists/statists that are so worried about rightists “blowing a gasket” now weren’t asking for moderation of those wishing to kill President Bush then), and I am not going to stifle that. There is a fine line sometimes regarding free speech, and I shall continue to judge that according to my own standards on my site.

Now, as for you, you have already established quite the history at my site. It’s getting to be more than a handful of comments that I’ve already completely deleted on your behalf, because you have certainly shown no restraint concerning your own hatred of what my site is about.

Therefore, here’s my bottom line for you. You already know what my site’s about; you’ve been around long enough to know such. If you don’t like what I post, don’t read and certainly don’t take the time to comment. Nobody is forcing you to enter my site’s domain name in your browser’s address bar, so the fact that you continue coming to my site is, by definition, an admission that you’re not “too” offended to stop by.

    1. He is not a natural born citizen as required by the Constitution. (Oh wait, he released a real certified birth certificate that proves he was born in the US.)

    but

    3. He is going to run the economy into the toilet. (Oh wait, Bush already did that.)

    but

    4. He spent millions on lawyers to keep the truth from getting out. (Oh wait, he has spent almost nothing and most of the lawyers who have filed motions are working pro bono).

    but

    5. He actually bowed to a Saudi king. (Oh wait, he was just being respectful and Bush kissed the same king and called a Saudi prince his “brother”).

    but

Consider them having been posted here in the comment section (that obviously gets lots of readership as well).

This reminds me of the charge that since other Presidents haven’t been directly questioned over their eligibility, this somehow diminishes the question of this President’s eligibility.

I never claimed and will never claim that what Mr. Bush did was the right thing to do. However, what is important to note in this situation is that Mr. Bush never claimed to not be of a certain belief system — and simultaneously claim that America disavows herself from being associated with any belief system — and then turn around and act like he’s been influence by said belief system.

Rather, we now have a President who goes “across the pond” to essentially apologize for America being America and then has the gonads to do something that even Der Schlickmeister, President Clinton, wouldn’t dare do — bow before a king.

Read the situation however you wish to read it. To me, it reeks of epic fail. And, clearly, the White House knows it.
