From TenthAmendmentCenter.com, Mississippi State Rep. Steven Palazzo and several other Representatives introduced HCR69 (status page):

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION REINFORCING THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLE AND AUTHORITY OF STATE SOVEREIGNTY UNDER THE TENTH AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OVER CERTAIN POWERS AND DISCOURAGING THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FROM IMPOSING CERTAIN RESTRICTIVE MANDATES.

I think this is the best thing for the state. The fed govt. was created by the states and has exceeded it’s power for years. They announced today that usps is out of money. The fed. govt can’t even del. the mail even though the price of postage goes up all the time. The passage of H.R. 1388 scares me.The reps. we have in washington have sold the people out. There was a time when state reps. appointed the washington reps. and if we remain in this union then it should revert back to that system. The state has a constitution and we as a sovereign citizen of this state have rights that the fed govt. has trampled on for too long.I think if the states stay this course we have the right under the US const. to do away with the fed govt. or at least hold it to the powers given it under the US const. One of which is our borders that are not being secured. The reps we have in washington are not going to save the people of this state or the state it is up to our state reps.THIS MEANS YOU!!!!

Thank you for your decision to protect Mississippi citizens from the oldest scam in the book, “the pigeon drop.” The Washington D.C. carrot on a stick can’t fool us. We are the bottom of the barrel in everything except knowing what deception is. It is when words do not match the actions. The reason some get a free pass is because he twists the truth and tells people what they want to hear. It is dishonest to build the hope of the innocent and play on their fears so I thank our leaders for not being fooled for too awful long.

THANK YOU…WE CAN FINALLY GET A LITTLE RELIEF…THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY AND BETTER THAN NOTHING.

IT WOULD BE GOOD TO SEND A “PINK SLIP” TO D.C. AND ASK THEM TO FIRE THEMSELVES BECAUSE WE HAVE FIRED THEM AND PUT THEM OUT THE LOOP.

THANKS STATE REPRESENTATIVES WHO ARE TRUE AMERICAN PATRIOTS WHO GOT BLINDSIDED BY THIS ADMITTED DOPER TERRORIST BARRY.

HE HAS TORMENTED US FOR WELL OVER 100 DAYS WITH HIS LYING.

THANK YOU FOR TAKING THIS ACTION…MISSISSIPPI VOTERS ARE BEHIND YOU.

HCR69 Died by Other Means 6/3/09. “No other info” is posted at MS state website, although the six(6) amendments proposed reveal that the representatives got caught up in modifying the language of the original, deleting lines which might offend Washington; improperly amended to a]use as a tool to resolve state car tag issues, and b] praise of Brett Favre! But it was the last amendment related to wind and flood insurance and funding which is perhaps telling of the increasing scope and influence of Washington and its ability to affect policy and legislative change on individual states, and thereby exert its influence on individual Americans. Of course, this has been going on for many years before Obama took office.
But in 2010, ask candidates, “Where have you been?” And vote!
