Tea Parties Forming Across the Nation; Many Occurring Tomorrow

02.26.2009 · Posted in Activism

What started out as a rant by Rick Santelli of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange has turned into quite the craze, following the adage, “We’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore!”.

I’ll be posting this in my State Initiatives page, so feel free to comment or email about other parties of which you know.

Update: Please send pictures and/or updates from your respective Tea Party to [phil at therightsideoflife dot com]. If I get a bunch of responses, I’ll create a posting for the events.

Update: WorldNetDaily has a more complete listing below…

Now we know these teabagging parties were well orchestrated ästroturf events (as in fake gras roots). Also, why did RICK Santelli chicken out and not appear on the Daily Show?

  2. I am late to the party. Sure wish there’d been more “press” on this. It seems to me one GIANT tea party ought to happen!

We need to take back the USA from BIG GOV’T and our “keepers”!

A list of the tea parties and their attendance.

  4. around 1,000 in St. Louis according to the Dispatch.

    Not bad… from 13 to 1,000, and from 1,000 to ???

  5. John Hancock says:

    Phil,

I saw the video of the tea party in Cleveland at Public Square, and it looked like a good first step.

I can think of a few more sites to hold the next wave of these tea-bagging parties.

    JH (because of this)

  6. Reality Check says:

These parties sound like a blast. Does anyone have pictures of the actual teabaggings?

  7. NEW TEA PARTY ADDRESS…If you are unable to attend a TEA PARTY you can send a TEA BAG to Sen. Jim DeMINT S.C. …342 Russell…U.S. Senate…Washington D.C. 20510…Add your ’sign’ on the back of the envelops if you wish. Do it today and smile all the way to the PO.

  8. janet shirk says:

I was there today at the Georgia State Capitol. We stood in the pouring rain and held our signs as high as we could in an effort to show the government that we DO still care and demand that our voices be heard. America needs to continue to stand up and show just how mighty we are. If we stand en masse, we have the ability to take our government back and have it work for us.

Please continue to arrange more protests of this type. I know many people who would have been there with us if they had known about it in time to make arrangements to take the day off from work. The more protests we stage, the more people will get involved and stand with us. The mightier we get, the more we can influence the Fantasy Island politicians in D.C.

Don’t tread on me…. Someone had that sign at the tea party today. It was very much on target for todays protest.

Let’s all stand up and tell the politicians in Washington “Don’t tread on us”!

  9. rrobin,

Hal Turner has a lot of interesting theories; it’ll be interesting to see if any of them come to complete and full fruition as he’s stated them.

  10. Holy Cow, folks! We have just been completely sold down the river! Phil, you need to verify this and post articles and get the word out about this – this is HUGE!

  12. Good Morning….

To those of you out “there” in internet space, I urge you to pay attention to just how many of these “tea parties” actually take place and how many people attend. As a wrap up for my thesis, I am going to go to Sacramento tonight and try and “find” the tea party tomorrow. I want to personally attend this event, if there is one. I was hoping that a call to protest of some type would occur before I had to finalize my draft. This is a gift.

Will be interesting to see if more than 13 people show up. The last internet organized gathering was in front of the Supreme Court on the day Berg filed one of his failed suits. I’ll report back next week. I urge you all to follow this story tomorrow. I suspect I am right on this and if there is any turnout at all, it will be very small.

    Off to Sacramento …. Jenni

  13. There’s one in Hartford CT too.

Hartford – State Capitol – February 27, 2009 from 12pm to 1pm (Meet Supreme Court – 11:45 AM, front steps)

    PRESS RELEASE
    (For immediate and continual distribution)

For some time since January 20th, discussions have been held among members of the Conservative Policy Roundtable (a private citizen’s think tank) dealing with an issue dear to the hearts of many ordinary, everyday Conservative American Citizens; “What can we do about the direction in which this Nation is being taken?”
    When an announcer on, of all channels, CNBC launched into a tirade on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade about the need for another “Boston Tea Party”, we had our answer. We will strive to bring forth from people all across this Great Nation an out-pouring of dried-out used tea bags which will be mailed, one per envelope, to at least each of the following officials;
    Nancy Pelosi
    Office of the Speaker
    H-232, US Capitol
    Washington, DC 20515

    Senator Harry Reid

    522 HART SENATE OFFICE BUILDING
    WASHINGTON DC 20510

    President of the United States
    1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
    Washington, DC 20500

Our intent is that concerned citizens all across this Great Nation will contact their Local and National conservative public personalities on radio and television to help spread this idea and its intent far and wide. Internet blogs should also be used to further disseminate this idea with the goal being to put Washington on notice that “We, the People” are already fed up with our being forced down the primrose path toward National Socialism. A date for this subtle but oh, so potentially meaningful protest to occur has been set; on or about April 15th, 2009.
Any and all assistance with the dissemination of this information will be deeply appreciated as will your participation in “The Tea Bag Revolt”.
