Republicans Who Voted for Treasury Secretary Geithner

Republicans Who Voted for Treasury Secretary Geithner

The following information comes from the US Senate Roll Call on the nomination of Timothy Geithner to be Treasury Secretary (via RedState.com).

Senate Republicans who believe that Mr. Geithner should still be Secretary depsite the fact that he is a tax cheat of the worst sort (even blaming TurboTax for the “mistake” of not paying enough taxes); remember these folks in upcoming years:

Corker (R-TN)
Cornyn (R-TX)
Crapo (R-ID)
Ensign (R-NV)
Graham (R-SC)
Gregg (R-NH)
Hatch (R-UT)
Shelby (R-AL)
Snowe (R-ME)
Voinovich (R-OH)

What’s interesting is the following Democrats and Independent who voted against Mr. Geithner:

Byrd (D-WV)
Feingold (D-WI)
Harkin (D-IA)
Sanders (I-VT)

So, which Republicans actually stood up, for a change, and similarly voted against the now Treasury Secretary (and, by definition, believe that failure to pay the required amount of taxes shouldn’t be rewarded with running the IRS)?

Alexander (R-TN), Barrasso (R-WY), Bennett (R-UT), Brownback (R-KS), Bunning (R-KY), Burr (R-NC), Chambliss (R-GA), Coburn (R-OK), Cochran (R-MS), Collins (R-ME), DeMint (R-SC), Enzi (R-WY), Grassley (R-IA), Hutchison (R-TX), Inhofe (R-OK), Isakson (R-GA), Johanns (R-NE), Kyl (R-AZ), Lugar (R-IN), Martinez (R-FL), McCain (R-AZ), McConnell (R-KY), Murkowski (R-AK), Risch (R-ID), Roberts (R-KS), Sessions (R-AL), Specter (R-PA), Thune (R-SD), Vitter (R-LA), Wicker (R-MS)

I am loving my Kansas senators today. They did exactly what I asked them to do. Thank you for this post very informational! Kudos to Brownback and Roberts….They stood up for their constituents! I led the charge to get calls to these Senators!

  • Remember that song, “gotta little change in my pockets
    going jing-a-ling-a-ling” ???

Now, read the online C.I.A. World Factbook report,
dated January 22, 2009 on KENYA,
and comprehend two sections where it explains
that the government of Kenya is corrupt,
and there is particularly a problem with
corruption when it comes to money.

Now, if Barack Obama gives money to Kenya,
how much will boomerang back into his pockets,
perhaps in time for the 2010 campaign season?

When Barack Obama talked about “change”
    did he REALLY mean
    a whole lotta change
    in his pockets going jing-a-ling-a-ling?

Madoff is not the only crook about to rob the USA blind. This current usurper and his croonies are about to do it in less than 6 months.

I have a client that sent off papers for an exemption last year and still no word from the IRS to accept or reject it. Unbelievable.

How anyone could vote for him is beyond my understanding. Thank you for posting the names. And three cheers for all who don’t vote for this man. It gives me comfort too know there are people with some common sense still left in Washington!

    Phil,
I believe we just have our first list of RINO in the Republican party. It is time to clean house starting in 2010.
