FairTax: Rep. Linder’s 2009 Update
Rep. John Linder (R-GA), one of the chief proponents and sponsor of the FairTax (my Category; HR 25; Cosponsors), sent out an update concerning the addition of his bill in the 111th Congress:
Knowing of your support for H.R. 25, the FairTax, I wanted to update you on our recent accomplishments and explain why your continued support grows more important each and every day.
The FairTax experienced record breaking success in the 110th Congress with more co-sponsors than any other fundamental tax reform bill considered by the U.S. House of Representatives. This week, on the first day of the 111th Congress, I reintroduced the FairTax bill with 34 original co-sponsors. While this is yet another record breaking success story for the FairTax, there is still much work to be done.
As a nation we are facing an uncertain and unstable economic future. You and I both know that our current income tax system has significantly contributed to our economic instability. While many in Congress on both sides of the aisle believe that change is necessary, they fear change as bold as the FairTax. All Members of both the House and Senate must be shown that the FairTax will revolutionize the American economy like no other single piece of legislation. This is why your continued support is critically important to the FairTax movement.
As I look to the 111th Congress, I know that support for the FairTax will continue to grow throughout the country, but it will only grow with hard work and determination. I know that we are fighting an uphill battle, but with the addition of each new FairTax supporter we become a more powerful force. As FairTax support becomes stronger and more commanding throughout the country, we will see support for the FairTax intensify in Washington. With each new Member of Congress that becomes a part of this movement, we take one step closer to our goal of enacting the FairTax.
I thank all of you for your dedication to the FairTax. I have worked hard within the halls of Congress to increase support for the FairTax, but our success in 2008 is undoubtedly the result of your steadfast support.
FairTax supporters have been an inspiration to me throughout this fight. Together, with renewed dedication in the 111th Congress, we will strengthen our grassroots movement. If we continue down our nation’s current financial path we will pass along nothing but deficit and debt to the next generation, but if we are brave enough to implement change we will give our children and grandchildren a brighter economic future than we could ever dream of under our current system.
Sincerely,
John Linder
Member of Congress

Ryan Park,
I’ve been keeping track of the Fed audit via my Twitter account, @trsol (twitter.com/trsol).

I applaud what you are doing with FairTax, keep up the fight and remember knowledge IS power. That’s what the opponents are scared of!
Furthermore, have there been any developments on the proposed audit of the federal reserve?
I am very interested to see this develop!
The only way for America to regrow is with the Fair Tax. This is a no brainer. I vote for it. If we must pay taxes, this tax is the way to wealth for everyone not just the rich who got rich with our taxes. Their hands in our pockets will stop with the Fair Tax.
Someone please make this law!
