Lightfoot v. Bowen: CA Supreme Court Denies Petition

Submitted by Phil on Fri, Dec 5, 2008One Comment

Per democratic-disaster.com and the California Appellate Courts web site, the case Lightfoot v. Bowen (Case S168690) was denied by the California Supreme Court.

Dr. Orly Taitz (also a lawyer in Keyes v. Bowen) will now pursue action in the Supreme Court. Here are some of her comments:

I wanted to thank the Justices of the Supreme Court of California and Chief Justice Ronald M. George for acting so expediently and I wanted to thank hundreds of volunteers that have written letters of support of Lightfoot v George, asking the Justices of the Supreme Court of California to act as soon as possible. Within two days the Justices have reviewed the case and entered their disposition on it today, on Friday night, at 9:53 PM. They have denied on my pleadings, which gives me an opportunity to file immediately in the Supreme Court of the United States. Supreme Court Justice assigned to our ninth circuit (includes CA) is an honorable Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. I would ask all volunteers to send very respectful letters and faxes to the Honorable Judge Kennedy and copies to the other 8 judges with the pleading of Lightfoot v Bowen [link added] attached. Please, ask him to grant the stay based on McCarthy v Briscoe, 1976 [link added] precedent. I have attached a wikipedia article about Honorable Judge Kennedy. I would encourage each and every one of you to read this article before writing your letter.
Thank you again for all your support and all the hard work
Orly
