FairTax Rally at Gwinnett Center Arena, November 16
For those of you in the great State of Georgia (probably also applies for surrounding States — you know who you are!), the FairTax organization is gearing up for another rally.
Essentially, the FairTax (otherwise known as a “use” or “consumption” tax) wipes out nearly all other forms of direct taxation (e.g.: income tax, payroll taxes, “death” taxes, etc.) and, instead, imposes a 25% sales tax on all new goods and services, to be administered by the several States (HR 25, S 25). The idea is that, in theory, all goods and services that are currently taxed have embedded taxes of approximately 25%; by removing these “hidden” taxes, one ends up paying roughly the same for everything now, but with two distinct advantages:
- You choose whether or not you get taxed;
- Your wealth is taxed, not your income (big, huge difference here)
Anyway, here’s the ad:
Dear Georgia FairTax supporters,
Attendance is absolutely free!Â
This election year the FairTax has been actively attacked in political ads. Outright lies and deliberate exaggerations have been launched right here in Georgia. FairTax supporters stand against these politically-inspired distortions, which threaten the FairTax because it is the change our country most needs now in this hour of peril. The simple truth is that FairTax can transform our nation and save our economy.Â
A very special collection of speakers will be on hand including:

Former Gov. and Fox News host Mike Huckabee

Nationally-syndicated radio host Neil Boortz

Ga. Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine

Congressman John Linder (GA-07

Senator Saxby Chambliss

Sen. Candidate Jim Martin (pending)
