Gov. Sarah Palin: Run in 2012; AK Democrats Defend on Pipeline
From hotair.com, a few news sources are reporting on the potential of Gov. Palin making a run in 2012 (I’m sure the press isn’t insinuating that Sen. Obama’s a shoe-in for 2008! Nah!):

- ABC News:Â Sarah Palin: ‘Not Doing This For Naught’
And from politico.com:
ELIZABETH VARGAS: If it doesn’t go your way on Tuesday … 2012?Â
GOV SARAH PALIN: I’m just … thinkin’ that it’s gonna go our way on Tuesday, November 4. I truly believe that the wisdom of … of the people will be revealed on that day. As they enter that voting booth, they will understand the stark contrast between the two tickets. …Â
VARGAS: But the point being that you haven’t been so bruised by some of the double standard, the sexism on the campaign trail, to say, “I’ve had it. I’m going back to Alaska.”Â
PALIN: Absolutely not. I think that, if I were to give up and wave a white flag of surrender against some of the political shots that we’ve taken, that … that would … bring this whole … I’m not doin’ this for naught.
In news related to the Governor, Alaska Democrats defended her (via Juneau Empire) amid AP reports that:
The AP reporters said seeking an independent pipeline ultimately favored TransCanada and excluded the producers, which was why the process was flawed.
…when, in fact, a third party owning the pipeline would keep the incumbent producers from selling access only to themselves, dissuading further development from occurring.
OK. I thought it was a pretty well-known fact that the pipeline project may be the biggest privatized infrastructure project in American history (or close to it).
Or, how about the fact that America’s first line of defense, NORAD, is to a large degree made up of Alaskan National Guardsmen(women), which is, of course, overseen by the Governor, who therefore probably has a higher security clearance than Sen.’s McCain, Obama and Biden. Talk about executive experience.
Gov. Palin will run in 2012 (or 2016, depending on what happens in 6 days). After all, simply by showing up, she commands the admiration and respect of millions of Americans. Besides — we haven’t seen a Ronald Reagan-esque figure in quite some time; I, for one, think she’s it.
